Another major step closer to our goal: the attempt to couple the people mover was proved successful. This involved linking the tractor and the people mover. The modules fit together perfectly, and mechanically combine to form a steady connection.  The complex coupling of the power and data supply of the people mover module is effected at one and the same moment.

The people mover module can seat 5 people, and, for people with reduced mobility or baby buggies, has a ramp that automatically extends and retracts. This payload was taken into account during the test, and the performance of the ventilation systems was also tested. This means that another important milestone has been achieved in the Campus FreeCity project, which is being sponsored by the  Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. The aim is to be able to start the road trials for the EDAG CityBot at the testing site in Fulda in the summer.
